Telangana Congress Plans “Five Guarantees” Inspired by Karnataka’s Success

Hyderabad, June 9: The Telangana Congress is drawing inspiration from the recent electoral victory in Karnataka and is set to announce five major guarantees ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections later this year.

The party aims to replicate its success in Karnataka by promising a range of benefits to various sections of society. The proposed guarantees include waiving farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh, providing LPG cylinders at a subsidized rate of Rs 500, offering a monthly allowance of Rs 4,000 for unemployed graduates, ensuring the filling of two lakh vacancies within a year of forming the government, implementing a bonus scheme along with Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural produce, increasing financial assistance to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, introducing an annual job calendar, and providing electric bikes to girl students.

Congress leaders are currently working on finalizing these five major guarantees to attract voters in the upcoming elections.

In an effort to gain a competitive edge, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief, A. Revanth Reddy, announced that the party’s manifesto will be released on September 17, well ahead of the polls scheduled for November-December. Reddy emphasized that the manifesto will be crafted to reflect the aspirations of the people of Telangana.

Expressing confidence in replicating Karnataka’s success, Reddy revealed that discussions have already taken place between the central leadership of the Congress party and some state leaders in this regard.

The Congress party has already made several promises to farmers, youth, and the unemployed through previous declarations. Additional declarations targeting other sections of society are expected to be released in the coming days, with a focus on taking these promises directly to the people.

In a separate address to the national executive of the Youth Congress, Revanth Reddy rallied the youth to unite and work towards defeating the incumbent KCR government in Telangana. He assured the young leaders that their efforts for the party’s victory would lead to a bright future.

Recalling the sacrifices made by students and youth during the formation of Telangana state, Reddy reaffirmed that if the Congress comes to power, it will abolish the controversial Dharani portal, which he alleged was being exploited for land grabbing. He further emphasized that those involved in such activities would be held accountable and prosecuted.

Responding to a challenge posed by BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao for a debate on Telangana’s development during Congress rule from 2004 to 2014 and after BRS came to power in 2014, Revanth Reddy accepted the challenge, expressing his readiness to discuss the progress of the state under different administrations.

The Telangana Congress aims to leverage the success witnessed in Karnataka to formulate an appealing manifesto, presenting a compelling case for a change in government and winning the upcoming Assembly elections.
