Congress President Kharge Accuses Telangana Chief Minister KCR of BJP Alliance

Hyderabad, August 26 – In a scathing attack on Bharat Raastra Samithi (BRS) Chief and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused him of distancing himself from the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

Addressing a substantial gathering in Hyderabad, a city in the poll-bound state of Telangana, Kharge criticized KCR for his absence from India alliance meetings held in Patna and Bengaluru. Instead, KCR aligned himself with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kharge asserted.

Kharge highlighted that a coalition had been formed with 26 regional parties nationwide with the aim of defeating the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, KCR chose not to attend a single meeting and was now engaged in secret discussions with the BJP while labeling his party as secular, Kharge stated.

He further claimed that there was an unspoken understanding between KCR and the BJP, preventing them from openly discussing their alliance.

Regarding promises made by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Kharge assured that the Congress would fulfill them and uphold their commitments to the people. He emphasized the Congress party’s dedication to working for the betterment of the citizens.

Kharge also pointed out that the BJP often alleged that the Congress had achieved nothing over the past 53 years. He countered by mentioning significant accomplishments, such as the victory over Pakistan and the establishment of a stable nation under the leadership of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He also credited the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi with the revolution in the use of mobile phones and Indira Gandhi with the nationalization of banks.

The Congress party in Telangana has made several promises, including 12 schemes for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), encompassing free housing, free education, and reservations in government contracts. The party also pledged to return lands taken from SCs and STs by the BRS government.
