Hyderabad Welcomes UAE’s Lulu Group with Inauguration of First Mall
Hyderabad, Sep 27: Lulu Group, a prominent UAE-based retailer, marked its entry into Telangana with the grand opening of its inaugural mall in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The group, renowned for its retail presence, also reaffirmed its commitment to invest a staggering Rs. 3,500 crore in the state over the course of the next three years.
Telangana’s Minister for Industry, KT Rama Rao, had the honor of inaugurating the sprawling mall, which spans an impressive 500,000 square feet.

Chairman of the Lulu Group, Yusuff Ali, expressed their dedication to infuse Rs. 3,500 crore into Telangana within the next three years. This substantial investment will encompass a destination shopping mall, mini malls, and a comprehensive agriculture sourcing, logistics, and processing hub, primarily geared towards facilitating 100 percent exports.
Ali further disclosed that their second venture in the state would involve establishing an export-focused, state-of-the-art food processing center, with a specific emphasis on meat processing, right here in Hyderabad.
“To support the local fishermen community, we are planning a seafood procurement and processing center in the constituency of the minister (Sircilla),” he stated.
KT Rama Rao emphasized that the mall’s inauguration marked just the initial step in Lulu Group’s ambitious commitment, which includes investments of Rs. 3,500 crore in supermarkets, malls, food processing, and various allied sectors, including aqua and fish processing.
He highlighted that this substantial investment not only promises to generate employment opportunities for the youth of Telangana but also offers significant benefits to the local fish and poultry farming communities.

This impressive mall, situated in the Kukatpally area, was realized with an investment of Rs. 300 crore and is set to provide the people of Hyderabad and its surrounding regions with a world-class shopping experience.
The mall boasts a colossal Lulu Hypermarket featuring over 75 local and international brands, a five-screen cinema with a seating capacity of 1,400, a multi-cuisine food court, and a dedicated children’s entertainment center, among other amenities.
Lulu Hypermarket is all set to offer an extensive range of fresh produce and groceries, featuring distinct sections for fashion, home appliances, electronics, mobiles, IT, and lifestyle products under the brand names ‘Lulu Fashion Store’ and ‘Lulu Connect.’
Back in June, Yusuff Ali had announced the Lulu Group’s additional investment of Rs. 200 crore in an export-oriented, state-of-the-art integrated meat processing plant, located at Chengicherla. This facility boasts a remarkable daily production capacity of 60 tonnes, and the project is expected to generate employment for over 2,500 individuals.
Ali underscored that the Lulu Group’s substantial investment in the state of Telangana materialized following numerous discussions and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana, which transpired during KTR’s visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos last year.
