Telangana Congress President A Revanth Reddy and AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi have reported alleged phone hacking attempts and shared the messages they received on their iPhones with the media.

The alert messages that these leaders received stated, “State-sponsored attackers may be targeting your iPhone,” and another message indicated, “Apple believes you are being targeted by state-sponsored attackers who are trying to remotely compromise the iPhone.”

Revanth Reddy, who also serves as a Member of Parliament, posted the alert message on social media, emphasizing their commitment to fighting for the people’s rights and justice. He decried the illegal hacking of their phones through spyware as a violation of privacy, human dignity, and political rights. He added, “But nothing will deter us. We will fight for Telangana and its people till our last breath,” along with relevant hashtags.

Revanth Reddy had previously accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of tapping and hacking Congress leaders’ phones in an attempt to influence the upcoming Assembly elections. He alleged that BRS working president KT Rama Rao had engaged a private army of “international criminals” to hack the phones of Congress leaders and find out who was supporting the Congress. Revanth Reddy also claimed that several police officers had been threatening his relatives and friends and making their private conversations public.

AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Owaisi also shared an alert message he received on his iPhone, indicating a potential hacking attempt. He used a Urdu couplet to express that those behind the hacking neither remain entirely hidden nor come out in the open.
