Telangana Deputy CM and Ministers Assume Office, Release Funds for Public Welfare
Hyderabad, Dec 14: Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with five other ministers, officially assumed office on Thursday. The ceremonial event saw Deputy CM Bhatti taking charge at 8:21 a.m., marked by Vedic hymns and blessings from pandits.
Upon assuming office, Deputy CM Bhatti promptly signed files related to the release of funds, fulfilling two of the six promises made by the Congress during elections. Notably, Rs 374 crore was allocated to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in support of the Mahalaxmi scheme, providing free travel for women on buses. An additional Rs 298 crore was released to the health department for medical treatment under the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme, offering assistance up to Rs 10 lakhs.
Furthermore, Bhatti sanctioned Rs 996 crore as electricity subsidy and Rs 75 crore for arrangements related to the tribal festival, Sammakka Saralamma, in Medaram, Mulugu district.
The Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, D. Sridhar Babu, was the first to assume office at 6:30 a.m. Other ministers who took charge include Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy, C. Damodar Rajanarasimha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Seethakka.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with ten other ministers, had taken the oath on December 7, with some ministers officially assuming office a day later. The event was attended by senior officials, MLAs, and Congress leaders.
