Telangana Governor Accepts Resignations of TSPSC Chairman and Members
Hyderabad, January 10 – Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has officially accepted the resignations of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Chairman B. Janardhan Reddy and three members, namely R. Satyanarayana, Prof. Bandi Linga Reddy, and Karam Ravinder Reddy. The resignations were tendered last month following a change in the government.
The decision comes after Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy wrote a letter to the Governor, urging her to expedite the decision-making process on the pending resignations, emphasizing the need for a full TSPSC board to fulfill the party’s election promise of filling two lakh government vacancies within a year.
The Raj Bhavan clarified that there was no delay in accepting the resignations, asserting that the entire process was completed in one day with utmost diligence and adherence to legal procedures. According to the Governor’s Press Secretary, upon receiving the resignations, they were forwarded to the state government, including the remarks and opinion of the Advocate General, through the Chief Minister.
The ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) played a crucial role in the decision-making process, with the state government reviewing the resignations and obtaining the opinion of the Advocate General. The file was circulated to the Governor through the Chief Minister, leading to the acceptance of all four resignations on January 10.
The Raj Bhavan assured the people, especially the unemployed youth, that every precaution had been taken to safeguard their interests. The decision reflects a commitment to upholding constitutional mandates, principles of justice, transparency, and accountability, considering ongoing investigations and potential future criminal proceedings.
TSPSC faced challenges last year with question paper leaks, resulting in the cancellation or postponement of several recruitment exams and triggering protests by unemployed youth.
