Title: Microsoft Tests Auto-Activation of Copilot Feature on Windows 11 for Widescreen Devices

In a recent update, Microsoft has announced that it is currently testing a modification to Windows 11, enabling the AI-powered Copilot feature to automatically launch when Windows starts on widescreen devices. This feature is part of the latest Dev Channel preview of Windows 11, allowing testers to provide feedback before the official release.

According to Microsoft’s blogpost, the company is experimenting with the automatic opening of Copilot on widescreen devices, with users being able to manage this setting through the path Settings > Personalisation > Copilot.

While Microsoft does not explicitly define what it considers a “widescreen” device, the Windows 11 setting notes that Copilot will launch “when you’re using a wider screen,” suggesting a possible reference to ultrawide displays.

Microsoft clarified that this experience is being tested on devices with a minimum diagonal screen size of 27 inches and a pixel width of 1920 pixels, limited to primary display screens in multi-monitor scenarios.

Simultaneously, Microsoft has introduced a dedicated Copilot key on Windows PC keyboards. When pressed, this key launches the Copilot in Windows experience, streamlining the process of engaging with Copilot in daily use.

Yusuf Mehdi, Executive Vice President and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft, mentioned in a blogpost that the new Copilot key is now an integral part of the PC keyboard, working in tandem with the Windows key to provide users with a seamless experience when utilizing Copilot in their day-to-day tasks.
