
Government of Telangana Announces Mega Recruitment Drive for Teachers
Hyderabad, February 29, 2024: In a significant move towards bolstering the education sector, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alongside officials from the Education Department, unveiled the Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) notification. This notification, released in the presence of Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, signifies the government’s commitment to fill 11,062 teaching positions across various categories.
The notification, numbered 24/RC-1/TRT/DSC/2024 and dated February [date not mentioned], outlines the recruitment process for School Assistants, Secondary Grade Teachers, Language Pandits, Physical Education Teachers, and Special Education Teachers. These positions span both primary and upper primary/secondary levels and will be filled in government and local body schools across the state.

The decision to release this comprehensive notification comes after the government’s approval, as per G.O. Ms. No. 27 Finance (HRM.VII) Department, dated February 26, 2024, to fill 4,957 direct recruitment teacher posts, in addition to 796 Special Education Teachers in Primary Level and 220 in Upper Primary/Secondary Level. Consequently, the earlier recruitment notification, DSC-2023 Notification No. 20/RC-1/DSC/TRT/2023, has been canceled to accommodate the fresh recruitment initiative.
Applicants who had previously applied under the DSC-2023 notification need not reapply, as their applications will be automatically carried forward. However, all candidates are urged to carefully review the eligibility criteria outlined in the Information Bulletin available on the official website (https://schooledu.telangana.gov.in) before submitting their applications.
Online applications will be accepted from March 4, 2024, to April 2, 2024. Candidates must pay an application processing and written test fee of Rs. 1000 per post, with provisions for multiple post applications. The written test, conducted as a Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT), will take place at designated centers across various districts, with the schedule to be announced later.
