Omer Saleem, a fifth-grade student, has won a gold medal in karate at St. Joseph’s Public School’s annual sports meet. The director of GVR Karate Academy, Dr. GS Gopal Reddy, congratulated Saleem on his achievement and praised the benefits of karate for children’s fitness and focus. According to Reddy, karate helps build self-confidence, teaches self-defense, and keeps the body and brain active. Through karate, children can become disciplined and learn to get along with others, while also improving their physical and mental well-being.
