Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director Sajjanar has responded to allegations of misconduct involving conductors under the Mahalakshmi scheme. A netizen accused some conductors of exploiting the scheme, which offers free bus travel for women, by improperly handling ticket sales.
Allegations of Misconduct
The netizen claimed that certain conductors were taking money for tickets from male passengers while issuing zero-value tickets to female passengers under the Mahalakshmi scheme. He reported experiencing this issue on three separate occasions: June 26th, July 7th, and August 4th. When questioned, the conductors allegedly dismissed the incidents as mistakes, issuing new tickets after tearing up the zero-value ones.
MD Sajjanar’s Response
The netizen brought this matter to the attention of TGSRTC MD Sajjanar via social media, labeling it a case of looting and urging action. Sajjanar responded promptly, assuring that those responsible would face consequences. He also apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passenger.
