The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced significant changes to the upcoming T20I fixtures involving India, Bangladesh, and England. The much-anticipated T20I series opener between India and Bangladesh, originally scheduled for October 6 in Dharamsala, has been shifted to Gwalior due to ongoing upgrades at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

The series opener will now be hosted at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. This venue, which holds historical significance for being the site of Sachin Tendulkar’s record-breaking double century in ODIs in 2010, will host its first international fixture since then.

“The first T20I between India and Bangladesh, initially set to be held in Dharamsala on October 6, will now take place in Gwalior owing to upgrades and renovation work being carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in the dressing rooms,” the BCCI stated.

Bangladesh’s tour of India includes two Tests and three T20Is, with the first Test scheduled in Chennai on September 19.

In another scheduling update, the BCCI has swapped venues for the first and second T20Is in the India vs England series in January 2025. Kolkata will now host the first T20I on January 22, while Chennai will host the second T20I on January 25. The switch was made following a request from Kolkata Police, citing prior commitments related to Republic Day celebrations.

England’s tour of India in early 2025 includes five T20Is and three ODIs, promising an action-packed cricketing season for fans.

These updates reflect the BCCI’s commitment to ensuring top-tier cricketing experiences while accommodating logistical and infrastructural needs.
