
“Bandaru Dattatreya’s Tirumala Visit: Prayers for Vaikuntha Ekadashi and National Progress”
Tirupati, January 10, 2025: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, accompanied by his family, visited Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala on the auspicious occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi. The Governor expressed profound happiness and spiritual peace after having darshan of Lord Venkateswara through the Vaikuntha Dwara on this sacred day.
Speaking to the media after the visit, Dattatreya remarked on the deep devotion of the devotees who seek blessings on Vaikuntha Ekadashi, believing it to be a path to salvation and divine blessings. However, he expressed sorrow over the recent tragic incident where six devotees lost their lives while waiting for tickets a day prior to the festival. He described the incident as a human error and urged the authorities and the government to ensure such mishaps are avoided in the future to maintain the trust of the devotees.

Highlighting the significance of cultural traditions, Dattatreya called for the preservation of Indian customs and their promotion among the younger generation. He emphasized the importance of education in the mother tongue for a better understanding of cultural and ethical texts like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavatam, and Vedas. While Sanskrit remains the primary language for these scriptures, he stressed that their essence can be effectively conveyed in regional languages.
Dattatreya praised the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which advocates mother tongue education in primary and secondary levels. He urged the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to take proactive steps in implementing mother tongue-based education in their states.
The Governor also informed that he prayed for the strength and success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047, as envisioned under the “Vikasit Bharat” initiative.
This visit on Vaikuntha Ekadashi underscores the Governor’s commitment to spiritual and cultural values while addressing critical aspects of education and governance.
