Hyderabad, August 11, 2025:
A one-day National Workshop on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for Vice-Chancellors of Telangana State Universities was organised today at the headquarters of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University (SKLTGHU), in collaboration with the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE).
Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman, TGCHE, delivered the Chief Guest Address, outlining a vision to enhance academic excellence and competitiveness among Telangana institutions. In his presidential remarks, Prof. D. Raji Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, SKLTGHU, stressed the importance of institutional ranking and quality enhancement in higher education.

The event began with the inauguration of the Extended University Library by Prof. Reddy, followed by the launch of the MyLOFT (My Library on Finger Tips) mobile app, designed to give students and faculty easy digital access to library resources.
Dr. K. Veeranjaneyulu, NIRF consultant and expert, delivered an in-depth presentation on NIRF methodology and best practices. He highlighted key areas that require improvement to secure better rankings, including expanding international and national collaborations, bridging gaps in graduate employability, improving faculty-student ratios, and strengthening outreach and inclusivity initiatives.

The workshop recommended encouraging faculty to publish in high-impact SCI/Scopus indexed journals, developing robust research and innovation ecosystems through funded projects and incubation centres, establishing global collaborations for student and faculty exchanges, and enhancing placement activities and alumni engagement. It also emphasised the recruitment of highly qualified faculty, promotion of ICT-based learning, and expansion of social responsibility programmes benefiting rural and marginalised communities.

Kishen Kumar Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, JNTU; Prof. Khaja Althaf Hussain, Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University; Prof. G.N. Srinivas, Vice-Chancellor, Palamuru University; Prof. M. Gnana Prakash, Vice-Chancellor, PV Narsimha Rao Veterinary University; Prof. Nanda Kumar Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences, along with senior officials, Deans, Registrars, librarians, and IQAC Directors from Telangana State Universities.
