Delhi, March 27:

On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to grant a stay on the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to K. Kavitha, a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Kavitha had approached the apex court to challenge her questioning and also sought protection from arrest by the ED in connection with a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who represented Kavitha, informed a bench led by Justice Ajay Rastogi that the issue at hand was whether she would be interrogated at her residence or at the ED’s office. Sibal also stated that his client had been summoned for investigation.
