Hyderabad March 28:Customs Air Intelligence officers have apprehended two Indian male passengers arriving from Dubai for smuggling gold into the country. The first passenger arrived on flight EK-524 at 02:55 AM on March 28, 2023, and was found to have concealed 03 capsules of gold in paste form weighing 840 grams (valued at approximately 51.24 lakhs) in his rectum. The second passenger arrived on flight 6E 1466 at 03:45 AM on the same day and was found to have hidden two gold bars weighing 233 grams (valued at approximately 14.23 lakhs) between Tuna Fish oil tins in his check-in bags. Both passengers have been arrested as per the provisions of the Indian Customs Act, 1962. Further investigations are currently underway.
