Telangana Clears Pending Paddy Bonus Dues; ₹514.36 Crore Released to Benefit 2.17 Lakh Farmers

In a major relief to paddy cultivators, the Telangana government on Monday released ₹514.36 crore towards pending bonus payments for farmers at the rate of ₹500 per quintal. The amount has been disbursed through the Civil Supplies Corporation and will directly benefit 2.17 lakh farmers who cultivated paddy during the Kharif (Vanakalam) 2025–26 season.
With this latest release, the total amount disbursed by the state towards the paddy bonus has reached ₹1,939.58 crore, marking a significant step in clearing backlog payments and ensuring timely financial support to cultivators.
Officials stated that the state government had announced an additional incentive of ₹500 per quintal over and above the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to make paddy cultivation more remunerative. The initiative aims to strengthen farm incomes, encourage agricultural productivity, and provide price assurance to farmers amid fluctuating market conditions.
The clearance of pending dues is expected to ease financial pressure on farmers, many of whom rely on post-harvest payments to manage input costs, repay crop loans, and prepare for the next agricultural season. Farmer associations have welcomed the move, saying timely payments play a crucial role in sustaining confidence among cultivators.
Government sources reiterated that supporting farmers remains a top priority and that steps are being taken to streamline procurement, ensure prompt payments, and enhance agricultural welfare measures across the state.
The latest disbursement is seen as part of the administration’s broader commitment to strengthening the rural economy and rewarding farmers for their contribution to food security and state growth.
