The makers of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated action entertainer, tentatively titled #Mega158, have successfully completed a major shooting schedule in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu.
Director Bobby Kolli shared the update on social media on Thursday, expressing excitement about the progress of the film. “An electrifying schedule of #Mega158 has been successfully completed in Pollachi, some spectacular moments that are shaping up beautifully. More exciting updates on the way,” he posted on X.
The Pollachi schedule, which commenced last week, featured Chiranjeevi and the film’s principal cast shooting key sequences that are expected to be crucial to the narrative. The successful completion of the schedule marks another important milestone in the production of the much-awaited project.
Adding to the buzz surrounding the film, the makers recently announced the addition of young actress Anaswara Rajan to the cast. Welcoming her onboard, production house KVN Productions described her entry as “a new wave of charm joining the Mega storm.”
The film is being produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the prestigious KVN Productions banner. Music for the project is being composed by renowned music director Thaman, while acclaimed cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan, known for his work in films such as Jailer, Daaku Maharaaj and the upcoming Jailer 2, is handling the camera.
Art direction is being overseen by Kolla Avinash, while Antony Ruben is in charge of editing.
The project has generated immense curiosity ever since it was officially announced on Chiranjeevi’s birthday last year. Recently, the Megastar further heightened expectations by sharing a workout video showcasing his intense physical preparation for the role.
Sharing the video, Chiranjeevi had written, “Every day is another opportunity to push beyond limits… Charged up and excited for another memorable journey with my dear Bobby for #Mega158.”
This marks the second collaboration between Chiranjeevi and director Bobby Kolli after the blockbuster success of Waltair Veerayya. Given the duo’s previous track record, industry circles are expecting another high-voltage commercial entertainer packed with action, emotion and mass appeal.
The film’s announcement poster had already set the tone for the project, featuring an axe breaking through a wall stained with traces of blood and carrying the intriguing tagline, “The blade that set the bloody benchmark.”
With shooting progressing at a brisk pace and more updates expected in the coming weeks, anticipation continues to build around what is shaping up to be one of the most-awaited Telugu films in production.
