Former Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch, seeking action against unidentified individuals who are exploiting his name, photograph, and voice in fraudulent advertisements circulating on the internet.
In his complaint, Tendulkar highlighted the unauthorized use of his esteemed reputation, image, and voice to deceive unsuspecting individuals online. The Mumbai Police’s Cyber Cell swiftly responded by registering a case under sections 420, 465, and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and initiating a thorough investigation.
Expressing concern over the misuse of his identity, Tendulkar also took to Twitter to raise awareness among the public about these illicit activities. Through his official social media handle, he informed his followers that his name, photo, and voice were being exploited without his consent for the sole purpose of defrauding innocent individuals.
