Memorial Meeting Held for Dr. M. Mandal, Forum for a Better Hyderabad Executive Committee Member
Hyderabad, May 18: A memorial meeting was conducted today at Shoaib Hall, Sundarayya Vigyan Kendra, Bagh Lingampally to honor the late Dr. M. Mandal, an esteemed member of the Forum for a Better Hyderabad Executive Committee. The meeting was chaired by Manikonda Vedakumar, Chairman of the Forum for a Better Hyderabad. The forum members began the gathering by observing a minute of silence in remembrance of Dr. Mandal.
During the meeting, Manikonda Vedakumar expressed how Dr. Mandal, after retiring from the bank, actively participated in the activities of the Forum for a Better Hyderabad (FBH). He highlighted Dr. Mandal’s profound understanding of Hyderabad’s environment, urban issues, and heritage, and the significant role he played in presenting proposals to the government on behalf of the forum to address these concerns promptly.
Forum Vice Chairman MH Rao commended Dr. Mandal’s efficiency, honesty, and transparency in his work. Forum Secretary Sanghamitra Malik recalled Dr. Mandal’s relentless efforts in following up with the government regarding the proposals he presented on behalf of the forum to resolve various issues.
OM Debara, in his speech, praised Dr. Mandal’s association, language proficiency, and unique style. Forum General Secretary Shobhasingh acknowledged that Dr. Mandal’s services to society, particularly to Hyderabad, were invaluable, and his absence would be deeply felt.
Mazhar Hussain, President of the COVA organization, recollected his association with Dr. Mandal through their organization and offered prayers for the peaceful rest of his soul.
The memorial meeting was attended by members of the Forum for Better Hyderabad, as well as civil society members such as Jasveen Jairath, Y. Subhash Reddy, P.
