
Hyderabad, May 24: The upcoming decennial celebrations of Telangana Formation Day, set to begin on June 2, promise a diverse range of activities and events. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has planned a grand extravaganza to showcase the state’s accomplishments over the past nine years.
With an eye on the impending assembly elections scheduled for November-December, the KCR government is leaving no stone unturned to celebrate the formation day in a spectacular manner, aiming to highlight Telangana’s remarkable progress across various sectors.
The festivities will commence on June 2, with Chief Minister KCR paying homage to Telangana martyrs at Gun Park in Hyderabad. He will then unfurl the national flag at Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana secretariat premises and address the participants. Simultaneously, ministers will participate in celebrations held in the districts.

The 21-day long celebration includes a plethora of activities, starting with Telangana Farmers Day on June 3. The State Agriculture department will organize programs at Rythu Vedikas to showcase the state’s achievements in the agricultural sector, including initiatives such as free electricity, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and more. Public representatives and officials will engage in community dining with farmers.
June 4 will be dedicated to Safety Day (Suraksha Day), where the State Police department will hold programs to highlight their efforts in maintaining law and order, the friendly police policy, and efficient services.
Telangana’s achievements in the energy sector will be celebrated on June 5 with ‘Telangana Vidyuttu Vijayotsavam’. Meetings at the constituency level will explain the qualitative advancements in the power sector, while Singareni celebrations will also take place on the same day.
On June 6, the spotlight will shift to Telangana Industrial Growth Festival, highlighting the progress made in the industrial sector.
Irrigation Water Day will be observed on June 7, with meetings planned in each constituency to illustrate the strides made in the irrigation sector. The State Irrigation department will hold a state-level meeting in Hyderabad, attended by Chief Minister KCR.
June 8 will witness the celebration of ‘Oorura Cheruvula Panduga’ (Celebrations at Water Bodies in Every Village), featuring cultural programs such as Batukamma and Bonalu. Fishermen will hold rallies and meetings along the pond embankments, and community lunches will be organized near the ponds.
‘Telangana Sankshema Sambaralu’ (Celebrations of Welfare Programs) is scheduled for June 9, with meetings being held with beneficiaries of Asara Pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, and other government welfare schemes at the constituency level.
Telangana Good Governance Day on June 10 will focus on conveying the benefits of making government systems more accessible to the people through administrative reforms. Meetings will be organized in all district headquarters.
On June 11, Telangana Literature Day will be celebrated, featuring district-level Kavi Sammelanams (poetry gatherings) and state-level programs.
Telangana Run will take place on June 12, with the state police department organizing the event in all constituency centers. Youth, students, public representatives, officials, and others will participate.
June 13 will be dedicated to Telangana Women’s Welfare Day, highlighting government programs and welfare schemes implemented for women. Awards will be presented to outstanding women employees.
Telangana Medical Day on June 14 will emphasize revolutionary developments in the medical and health sector. The health department will explain the enhanced medical facilities provided to the people, including the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new 2
