Hyderabad, June 21: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a series of searches today at multiple private medical colleges and other institutions in Telangana. The officials began conducting simultaneous searches in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Mahabunagar, and other locations.
One of the institutions under scrutiny is Malla Reddy Medical College, situated on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Suraram. This college is owned by the Malla Reddy group of institutions, which is headed by Telangana labor minister Malla Reddy.
To ensure security during the searches, personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed to assist the ED teams at various premises.
Apart from Malla Reddy Medical College, the corporate office of Prathima Group at Film Nagar in Hyderabad also faced investigation. The ED officials extended their searches to other offices affiliated with the Prathima Group.
Furthermore, the central agency carried out searches at Prathima Medical College and Prathima Multiplex in Karimnagar. Similar searches were conducted at Chalmeda Ananda Rao Medical College in Karimnagar, Kamineni Medical College in L.B. Nagar, Hyderabad, SVS Medical College in Mahabubnagar, and MSR Medical College in Sangareddy district.
Reports suggest that the ED officials are meticulously examining financial transaction records at these colleges in response to allegations of irregularities.
