
Heavy Rains Forecast for Two Days Across State, Orange Alert Issued for 12 Districts
Hyderabad, July 18: The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to very heavy to extremely heavy rains across the state for the next two days due to the low pressure effect. As a result, 20 districts in the state are expected to experience significant rainfall, with an orange alert issued for 12 districts.
On Tuesday, moderate to heavy rains were observed in many areas across the state. The districts of Adilabad, Kumrambhim Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Guisebad, Warangal, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, and Mulugu received considerable rainfall. Gannaram in Nizamabad district recorded the highest rainfall at 5.2 cm, followed by Bhainsa in Nirmal district with 5 cm, and Kamareddy with 4.9 cm.
The 12 districts under an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in the upcoming two days include Hanumakonda, Janagama, Kamareddy, Kumrabhim, Medak, Mulugu, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Warangal, and Yadadri districts.
With the whole state experiencing moderate to heavy rains, Hyderabad also received rainfall, with Golconda recording the highest at 1.8 cm. Rajendranagar, Serilingampally, Saidabad, and Bandlaguda also witnessed rain.
Residents in the warned districts are advised to take necessary precautions as the rains are expected to continue for the next two days, and the situation may require vigilance for any potential flooding or other adverse effects.
