ISRO to Launch Seven Singaporean Satellites via PSLV on July 30

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch seven Singaporean satellites using its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on July 30. Registration for the public wanting to witness the event will begin from Monday evening.

The main passenger on the PSLV-C56 rocket will be the Singaporean DS-SAR satellite weighing around 360 kg. It will be accompanied by six co-passenger small satellites, including VELOX-AM, ARCADE, SCOOB-II, NuLIoN, Galassia-2, and ORB-12 STRIDER, from various Singaporean institutions.

The DS-SAR satellite, developed under a partnership between DSTA and ST Engineering, will provide all-weather day and night coverage with imaging capabilities at one-meter resolution. The other satellites serve a variety of technology demonstration and experimental purposes.

The launch will take place from the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh, and it will be ISRO’s second mission within two weeks, following the successful launch of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on July 14.

ISRO’s upcoming missions include the Aditya L1 mission to study the solar atmosphere and the launch of the Radar Imaging Satellite- RISAT-1B aboard the PSLV rocket in 2023, among others. Additionally, the organization is gearing up for a maiden human space mission in the future.
