Hyderabad, September 15 – Union Minister for Tourism and Culture and State BJP President, G. Kishan Reddy, took the lead in a bike rally today as part of the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations. The rally commenced from Parade Grounds in Secunderabad and saw the participation of several party leaders and workers.

However, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in Telangana continues to celebrate September 17 as National Integration Day, a tradition carried over from the previous year. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will hoist the national flag at the primary official function in Hyderabad. National Integration Day will also be observed in all districts, where state ministers or district collectors will raise the national flag.

Former Union Minister and BJP’s election in-charge for Telangana, Prakash Javadekar, flagged off the rally, which is set to cover a distance of 300 kilometers from Secunderabad to Parkala in Warangal district. Participants, waving BJP flags and chanting slogans, are en route to their destination, where the rally will culminate in a public meeting.

The BJP’s key demands during these celebrations include official recognition of September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day by the state government, inclusion of lessons on martyrs in school textbooks, and the establishment of martyrs’ memorials.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to participate in the central government’s official function at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on September 17, marking Telangana Liberation Day. The event will feature a parade by the armed forces.

It’s worth noting that on September 17, 1948, the princely state of Hyderabad, encompassing Telangana and parts of present-day Karnataka and Maharashtra, joined the Indian Union following India’s military action against the Nizam’s Army.
