Hyderabad Schools Unite for Youngpreneurs 2023 Event Hosted by The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur
Hyderabad – Oct 7, 2023 – The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, played host to a remarkable inter-school competition known as ‘Youngpreneurs 2023.’ This unique platform was designed with the lofty goal of nurturing and empowering the entrepreneurial potential within young minds. Schools from across the city enthusiastically participated, presenting their business pitches to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts serving as judges.

This competition served as a catalyst for igniting creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaboration among the participants. It provided them with invaluable feedback, mentorship, and networking opportunities, enriching their overall educational experience.
Youngpreneurs 2023 welcomed students in grades 10 through 12 from across the city. Students were encouraged to submit their startup ideas through an online registration portal. These concepts were rigorously evaluated, considering factors such as creativity, feasibility, market potential, and presentation. The shortlisted participants were then invited to present their ideas before a panel of judges during the Grand Finale on October 7, 2023. The competition offered exposure to potential investors, amplifying their entrepreneurial journey.
In the final round, seven teams showcased their innovative ideas:

- Team Avinya from The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, proposed using the bokashi compost method to convert waste into compost, which would be sold to terrace farmers and traditional farmers, directly connecting them with restaurants and bypassing middlemen.
- Team Nurture.in from Global Indian International School, Uppal Campus, introduced an app aimed at revolutionizing employment opportunities for differently-abled individuals.
- Team Agrotastic from Nasr Girls School presented a business concept centered around a platform that utilizes agricultural residues to manufacture gym equipment.
- Team Sparen from Indus Universal School presented their idea of utilizing an IC engine to monitor battery charge levels and ensure optimal charging and discharging.
- Team PetXperts from HPS-Ramanthapur proposed an app catering to pet lovers, offering a wide range of services and subscription plans for an enhanced pet ownership experience. They also planned to engage in social initiatives, including aiding stray animals.
Team PetXperts from HPS-Ramanthapur emerged as the victors of the Best Business Pitch in the Inter-School HPSR Youngpreneurs 2023 competition. Mr. Phani Kondepudi, a member of the judging panel, congratulated these exceptional young entrepreneurs and encouraged them to view failure as a stepping stone to success.
Mrs. Nidhi Reddy, the esteemed Chief Guest, emphasized the power of authenticity and passion in transforming ideas, regardless of their size. She commended the extraordinary ideas presented at Youngpreneurs 2023, stating, “Your stories reflect your passion, and each one of you holds an unwritten tale of innovation.”
The seven teams received guidance from their respective alumni and faculty mentors to pitch their business ideas. The concept of developing an HPS(R) Entrepreneurship program originated at the HPS(R) Alumni event in Boston in October 2019. It became a reality through the initiative taken by Entrepreneurship Program Chairman Jay Reddy (Batch 1980), Alumni US Leader Praveen Tailam (HPS(R) 1986), HPSR Alum President Aswin Rao (Batch 1990), along with the support of many alumni association leaders and the keen support from Dr. Narshima Reddy, Principal of HPS Ramanthapur.
In their ongoing commitment to inspire students with an entrepreneurial mindset, the faculty at HPS-R has recently incorporated Entrepreneurship as a permanent elective subject for 11th and 12th grade students, aligning with CBSE standards for this academic year. This course adopts an “experiential-based” learning approach, similar to successful programs in high schools in the United States. It encompasses elements such as business case studies, negotiation workshops, group discussions, webinars featuring industry experts, and business plan development competitions, all designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to become future entrepreneurs.
