Eight Parliament Staff Suspended Over December 13 Security Breach

New Delhi, Dec 14: Following the significant security breach on December 13, eight Parliament staff members have been suspended, according to sources. The suspension comes in the aftermath of a massive lapse in security when two individuals jumped from the visitor’s gallery in the Lok Sabha, accompanied by the release of yellow-colored smoke.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) promptly ordered an inquiry into the Parliament security breach, assigning the task to Anish Dayal Singh, DG CRPF. The committee, comprising members from various security agencies and experts, will investigate the reasons behind the security breach, identify lapses, and recommend further action.

In a statement, the MHA announced, “The Enquiry Committee will investigate into the reasons for breach in security of Parliament, identify lapses and recommend further action.” The committee is expected to submit its report, including recommendations for improving security in Parliament, at the earliest.

The inquiry was initiated following a request from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, which sought a security review of Parliament in the wake of the breach.
