Assault on Medical Students at RIMS-Adilabad Campus Sparks Outcry
A group of unidentified individuals reportedly assaulted five MBBS students from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad, Telangana, on Wednesday night. The assailants allegedly barged into the campus, causing minor injuries to the students. Abhishek, a final-year MBBS student, was dragged to the main gate when he attempted to apprehend the attackers. Two suspects have been detained by the police.
In response to the incident, students staged a dharna on Thursday, demanding action against those responsible for the assault. They claimed that the attackers were followers of RIMS director Dr. Jaisingh Rathod and accused individuals named Waseem and three others of being involved. The students expressed concerns about the breach of the security system that allowed the assailants to enter the institution.
Police forces were deployed to maintain order on the campus, and a case has been registered. Investigations into the incident are underway.
